Choosing to invest in a portrait session is a big commitment. Doing so year after year is a compliment. I genuinely care that you have an amazing photo session. For me it’s not just about the final images and products-it’s also about the experience. I’m not the Sears or Target portrait studio. You are investing in a custom experience and high-quality service. From styling your session together and getting to really know your kids as best as I can, to making your session fun and memorable for everyone and creating products that you love, my goal is that you have such an unforgettable experience that you come back every year (and rave about me to others!).
Alongside what I call the classic posed “wall-hangers,” I really try and capture real, raw moments. I find so much beauty in the connections within a family unit and the innate and intimate imperfections of humans. Who you are right this second is perfectly perfect.
These images are for you-your walls, your computer, your social media shares, your purse, your hands. More importantly they are images made for your children-ones that they will thumb or click through as adults and thank you for taking time to make. An artistic vision paired with professional training and years of experience will leave your family with stunning artwork to cherish for generations.
POLICIES AND TERMS OF AGREEMENTS | ALL SESSIONS
- Session fees are due at the time of booking and guarantee your date. Products and digital images are not included in your session fee.
- I understand life. Schedules change, kids get sick, grandma shows up on your doorstep, you win a trip to the Bahamas (I wish!). Clients may reschedule their session once within one year of their original session date. The session fee remains the same but collection and product prices are subject to change. Please give adequate notice (14 days) when possible and be polite about this.
- Failure to show or cancel one or less calendar days before the agreed upon session date forfeits the session fee
- Arrive on time. We can’t change the sunrise or sunset hour. We can’t make up time.
- There is a $500 minimum order for all sessions and orders must be paid in full at your image premiere and ordering session.
- I accept cash, check or credit card.
- Photographs are protected under intellectual copyright and I retain copyright ownership of all works created within our session. Any duplication (printing, copying, downloading or scanning) or alteration of original images is strictly prohibited without my written permission. Alterations include, but are not limited to, application of filters, cropping, or modifications of any kind.
NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY

Newborn Session – $250
Products and digital images are not included in your session fee.*
Includes:
- A complimentary maternity session (can be substituted for 2 additional digital images).
- Pre-session consultation meeting to discuss your maternity session location and wardrobe and to style your newborn session in regards to props, wardrobe and backgrounds
- A session date guaranteed 2 weeks surrounding (before and after) your due date
- 2-4 hour session held in your home or in my natural-light studio in Denver**
- In-person image premiere or online ordering session 1-2 weeks following your photo session
*Collections start at $500 and include high-resolution downloadable digital images, a print and media release, and printed photo products. **$50 additional fee, subject to availability.

Before – Planning the Session
- Your session will be planned in advance so that when your baby arrives, all you should worry about is enjoying every moment.
- I take 2 newborn sessions a month so book your session 4-5 months in advance to ensure availability 1-2 weeks within your due date.
- The ideal time for your newborn session is within the first 5-14 days of life. This is when you baby is extra sleepy, less fussy and generally easiest for me to work with
- Upon booking your newborn session, we will select a date and location for your complimentary maternity session.
- I will also send a questionnaire to help get a better vision of what you want your newborn session to look and feel like in regards to props, wardrobe and backgrounds
- We will set up a pre-consultation meeting for about one month prior to your due date when we will style your newborn session in regards to props, wardrobe and backgrounds.
- Once the baby is born, please contact me within 1-2 days so that I may schedule your session within the optimal window of 5-14 days from birth.
During The Shoot
During – The Photo Session
Babies like to determine what happens during their session but you can expect…
- Session typically last 3-4 hours with frequent breaks for feeding, diaper changes and cuddling
- I will provide everything that we need for the session except for any sentimental props or blankets that you would like to incorporate and the milk!
- We will make the room VERY warm for baby’s comfort so wear layers
- Your session will included posed individual baby images, sibling and parent images and family images
After The Shoot
After – Designing Your Products and Showing Them Off
- We will schedule your image premier and ordering session for one week following your session. For the session premiere you can first expect a slideshow of my favorite images from the session. We will go through the entire gallery (around 30-75 images) together and chose your favorites. Then you will decide on a collection that works best within your budget and the number of digital images that you can’t live without.
- I will also bring sample products for you to see so that you can decide on how to best customize your collection. All collections come with fun add-on products like canvases or prints, albums and mini books, and gifts.
- Once your order is paid in full it will go into my processing queue. I will custom edit and retouch all images within your collection. High-resolution digital images will be ready 2-3 weeks after your order is paid in full and will be available through a digital download gallery. Digital images come with a print and media release to print at your location of choice. I offer suggestions on print labs that provide quality prints at reasonable prices so that you are not making crummy prints of yummy images.
- I will also begin sending proofs for any products selected within your collection such as announcements, albums and books. Upon approval of all proofs, I will order products. And they will be hand-delivered or mailed directly to you within 2-3 weeks of their proof approval.
- Finally, we will look at birth announcement templates and begin custom-designing your announcement.
- You will also receive a discount on all a la carte products ordered through me up to one year from your session premiere date.

Tips
- Bring a change of clothes for you and your partner. Babies like to pee and poop on us during the session
- Expect your baby to eat more during your session than usual. I’m not sure why, but they usually do. If you are bottle feeding, bring more milk for your baby than anticipated.
- Bring snacks for yourself and older children-let’s avoid hangry people if at all possible!

- Session may include your partner and older siblings but can also be just the mama-to-be
- An online proofing gallery of images posted 1 week following your session
- In-person image premiere and ordering session 1 week following your newborn session

- Meeting you and your family before your newest is born is super important to me and as it especially helps older siblings (and dad!) feel more comfortable during the newborn session
- We will pick a location that works best for you depending on the time of year, your comfort level and your desired look.
- I will help you plan your wardrobe or I can provide a few maternity wardrobe options
During The Shoot

- Sessions typically last 1 hour
- I will take images of you by yourself, you with your partner, you with your older children and your family all together
After The Shoot
After – Designing Your Products and Showing Them Off
- I will send you an online proofing gallery of your images 1 week after your session.
- All maternity images will be included in your final newborn gallery to be viewed at the newborn image premiere and ordering session 1 week following your newborn session.
- You may order a la carte maternity images before your newborn session premiere for $50 per digital image. This a la carte charge will be deducted from your final collection selected at the newborn session premiere.

- Wear tight-fitting tops or dresses that showcase your belly

Before – Planning the Session
- Book your session 4-5 month in advance to ensure availability. My busiest time of year is from September-December so book these early.
- You may book your session in one of my favorite Colorado locations or in my natural-light studio in Denver
- The best time for optimal lighting for outdoor sessions is 1-2 hours after sunrise and before sunset. My preference is to shoot in the evening when it is warmer and your photos will be wrapped in that delicious golden hour light. Sunrise is nice too but it can be chilly and dragging children (and me) out of bed super early might make for some crabbiness.
- We will set up a pre-consultation meeting for about one month prior to your session date to plan your session in regards to wardrobe and location.
During The Shoot
During – The Photo Session
Children like to determine what happens during the session but you can expect…
- Sessions typically last 45 minutes to an hour and a half with breaks for snacks and outfit changes.
- I will provide everything needed unless you would like to incorporate any sentimental blankets or props
- Sessions will include individual images of each child, sibling and parent images and family images. I will also push you to take a photo with your partner because, why the heck not?!!
After The Shoot
After – Designing Your Products and Showing Them Off

Tips
- Talk to you kids about the photo session ahead of time and let them know what to expect. Don’t put any lofty pressure on them before or after the session. Relax-they can sense your stress! Sometimes giving kids space helps if you are sensing they are getting ornery. Walk away (but stay close) for a bit and let me run the show. My kids are always better for others than they are for me!
- During our pre-consultation, let me know about your kids’ interests. Favorite songs? Characters? What makes them laugh? Do you have any inside family jokes? And don’t be surprised if we end up talking about poop and farts (please tell me if you would like me to refrain)! Bring snacks-let’s avoid hangry people if at all possible!

- Pre-session consultation meeting to plan your session in regards to wardrobe and location
- A 2 hour session held in up to two locations: two outdoor locations or 1 outdoor location combined with a studio session in my natural-light studio in Denver
- Unlimited wardrobe changes
- 25 custom-designed graduation announcements or open house invitations
- In-person image premiere and ordering session 1 week following your photo session
*Collections start at $500 and include high-resolution downloadable digital images, a print and media release, and printed photo products.
*Professional Hair and Makeup services may be added to any session for females for $125.

During The Shoot
During – The Photo Session
- It’s all about the experience! We will have fun creating images that portray who you are at this point in time. We will begin at the first location that we select in your pre-consultation meeting. We will then move on to your next location.
- You are welcome to change your outfit as many times as you like. Seniors males usually incorporate at least two outfits while females usually fit in 2-4 outfits.

- We will schedule your image premier and ordering session for one week following your session. For the session premiere you can first expect a slideshow of my favorite images from the session. We will go through the entire gallery (around 30-75 images) together and chose your favorites. - I am a big proponent of making art out of your images. Everyone can go to COSTCO and have a print made but it is my job to show you what professional printed products should look like. Images are not allowed to live on your hard drive and collect dust! All collections include products that you will hand-select during your ordering session. From wall hangings and albums to holiday cards and gifts, you will walk away knowing which products that you want and need will be hand-delivered to your door in less than a month.
- Once your order is paid in full it will go into my processing queue.
- Your yearbook image will be edited first and delivered directly to your school within the given deadline (please provide this information to me at your pre-consultation meeting).
- I will custom edit and retouch all other images within your collection. High-resolution digital images will be ready 2-3 weeks after your order is paid in full and will be available through a digital download gallery. Digital images come with a print and media release to print at your location of choice. I offer suggestions on print labs that provide quality prints at reasonable prices so that you are not making crummy prints of yummy images.
